An elderly woman and her daughter enjoyed a nice holiday around the countryside, blissfully unaware they had become the subject of a massive search.
Pictures of Elizabeth Doran, 93, and daughter Julie, 61, were released by police after the pair were reported missing from their homes in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, and Caversham, Berkshire.
The mystery deepened when officers found CCTV footage of Julie pushing her mother in a wheelchair in Oxford, as the search entered its 11th day.
Neither of them had been seen since September 25 and police feared for their safety given the awful weather.
But it turns out they had just hit the road for a bit of a jaunt, unknowingly evading dozens of officers.
Officers concluded the ‘on-the-run’ family act were probably enjoying some time off, using buses to get around.

Just after 9pm last night, officers released an update.
A police spokesperson said: ‘Following an appeal for information from Thames Valley Police we can confirm that a mother and daughter have been found safe and well.
‘We are pleased to confirm that Elizabeth Doran and Julie Doran have been located.
‘Thanks to everyone who assisted us in finding them.’
