A woman was being held today on suspicion of trying to murder her Gurkha husband at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Corporal Khagendra Pariya, 40, was taken to hospital with a slit throat following an incident at the couple’s home at the Berkshire academy, where Princes William and Harry did their officer training.
A Thames Valley Police spokeswoman said: “A 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently being detained under the Mental Health Act.”
She added: “Police are currently investigating a domestic incident which occurred at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst during the early hours of Monday.
“The ambulance service received a call at 12.45am reporting that a 40-year-old man had sustained serious neck injuries, believed to have been caused by a knife.
“The man was taken to Frimley Park Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition this morning.”
