Police and the prison service are dealing with a “disturbance” at a prison for young offenders, Thames Valley Police said today.
Officers were called at 11.46am to the incident at Aylesbury Young Offenders Institution in Buckinghamshire, a spokesman said.
There were no reports of any injuries to offenders or staff, she added.
The spokesman said: “Police are currently at Aylesbury Youth Offenders Institute supporting the prison service with a disturbance inside the building.
“Officers from Thames Valley Police are supporting the prison service at the perimeter.
“There are no reports of any injuries to the prisoners, prison staff or police.”
A Prison Service spokesman said: “We can confirm an incident of concerted indiscipline is ongoing at HMP Aylesbury today. The incident began at 11.15am.
“Specially-trained prison service staff are at the scene.
“There are currently no reports of injuries to staff or prisoners.”
Aylesbury holds up to 435 young men on the site of a Victorian prison and former borstal.
